Science


Today in science I learned about the rock cycles. I learned how sedimentary rock turns into metamorphic rock and how metamorphic turns into igneous and vise versa. This was fairly easy to understand but hard to memorize.

Today in Science i was supposed to finish my crossword puzzle but i didnt.i guess it was to hard. I also did a worksheet about rocks. I learned about how sedimentary rocks form, the stages  it takes to make it form and much more.

Yestrday, we learned reviewed the 3 different types of rocks and how each could change into another, forming what we call the rock cycle. For something to turn into a Sedimentary rock, something must wear it out and break it down. A rock is an Igneous rock after it is melted down and hardened, and something is a Metamorphic rock if it is changed by heat or pressure. We have to do a project to show what we know about the rock cycle. I'm thinking of doing a comic strip.

Today we worked on our projects, and i went on with my comic strip idea. I chose this instead of doing a poster because it seems more creative and fun. It's going to show a rock in its life. I named it Brian.

In science class, we're focusing on mechanical waves. We're also learning about its frequencies, speed and distance. It was kind of confusing because there's so much kinds of waves to learn about.

In science I learned about mechanical waves and electromagnetic waves. I did mostly book work that class not really anything else.

We learned about the 4 different ways that waves can change. Such as Reflection,Refraction, Diffraction and Interference (Constructive and Destructive.)

English

So for english yesterday, i learned about text structures and bias. We took a quiz on the 5 different structures, and Ms. Takara gave us a quiz to work on. We have to write 9 paragraphs to prove our thesis statement. I think that the difference between cause & effect and problem & solution is pretty confusing.

Yesterday in English i learned about the 5 different types of text structures and Bias. I took an I.C check and i got a 9 out of 10.  I understand the lesson.

In class today I  did worksheets that had me read an article find words i didnt know and i had to look them up on the dictionary. This was pretty straight  forward  so  i had an easy time.

Today, we did research on our thesis statement. Mine was about child abuse. My topic was inspired after I read a very touching book called "A Child Called It" written by David Pelzer. I think that child abuse should be stopped, and I'm trying to find some solutions while doing our research project.

Yesterday in English i took an IC. I also did constructed responses. I  also had to write a paper about  a famous or historical person that did something to the world. I chose Adolf Hitler to write about.

We worked on our projects almost the whole period, but we didn't have the computers this time.I didn't really do much because I decided to research at home about child abuse.I also learned how to verify if a site is legitimate.

Algebra

Today in math, we learned and corrected our work about inequalities.  I really don't get how inequalities work. So far it's the only thing in math i've been confused about this year. I'm going to review my math book at home, and hopefully I'll understand.

Yesterday In Math I learned about slope. I learned how to decipher trends and change in slope. It was fairly easy to learn. Im confused about how to make my own slope and keep a pattern according to trends.

Today, i had a quiz on graphing absolute value inequalities. I can graph it on a number line, but I didn't know how to graph them on a coordinate plane. So, i was studying my math book.

Today in class we did the wave. The purpose of doing this was to figure out the time change while adding 3 more people to the wave.This time change was almost consistant except for some variables like early waves and fast waves wich threw off the pattern. This was slope.
